EDISON FESTIVAL OF LIGHT

Named One of North America's Top 100 Events and One of the Top 20 Events in the Southeast, the 71st Edison Festival of Light has something for everyone. We invite guests to enjoy three weeks of celebration of the innovation of Thomas Edison and the quality of life of our host City of Fort Myers. Featured events of the 2009 Celebrations include:

Edison Day of Discovery - Saturday, January 31st - Harborside, Ft. Myers
Presented by Florida Power & Light

  1. 52nd Thomas Alva Edison Kiwanis Science & Engineering Fair - Open to the public after judging is completed
  2. 20th Thomas A. Edison Regional Inventors Fair - Open to the public after judging is completed

Come and see the 1st annual Edison Festival of Light Bed Race. Teams of 5 will race their illuminated bed for a chance to win the grand prize of participating in the Grand Parade of Light.

Classic GM Car Show
Time: 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Come and see over 100 classic GM cars lining Edwards drive and enjoy the Crafts on the River. A peoples choice award will be given along with a silent auction and 50/50 raffle. Registration for cars is $15.00 with all profits going to the Harry Chapin Food Bank.
