The life and times of the world-famous Pedro Cuban Pete Aguilar are showcased in this debut exhibition. The Latin dance world was forever changed by this Maestro of Mambo who also was consulting choreographer for the hit film, Mambo Kings. This exhibition will feature spectacular costumes, vibrant music, Mambo Kings memorabilia and much more at the SWFL Museum of History June 4th - October 15
We will have season auditions on June 4th and 18th from 4 to 8 pm. Auditionees should check in at the west (Lee Street) entrance of the First Presbyterian Church on Lee and Second Street, downtown Fort Myers. *auditions are by appointment only - please call 218.0481 to set an audition time *auditions will be in 10-minute intervals *auditions will be for all roles this upcoming season *auditions for one-act plays will occur throughout the season *please prepare a 1-2 minute monologue for your audition; we cannot guarantee that sides will be available for all shows Rehearsals are typically three to four nights a week plus one block of time at the weekend for 5-8 weeks before production. In addition to performers, other volunteers are needed backstage and at the front of the house. A great way to get involved is to help out in a non-performance capacity. Our upcoming Gulf Coast Shakespeare Festival requires many volunteers to man booths and be on-hand throughout the two-day festival, November 18th and 19th, 2011. Our upcoming season will include: THE LARAMIE PROJECT THE INTERVIEW A CHRISTMAS CAROL ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S ROMEO AND JULIET IN THE NEXT ROOM, or the Vibrator Play POLISH JOKE THE PLAGUE

The SWFL Hispanic Chamber of Commerce along with Renzos Designs Green Developers, present the first annual "Legends and Traditions Art Show". Opening night will take place on Wednesday, June 29th, 2011 from 5:30pm until 8:00pm at Harborside Event Center.
The show will feature visual artists from different backgrounds expressing a story of a legend or tradition that have touched their souls.Featured artists include Cecilia Valadez, Quintin Perez along with Juan Romero, Jackie Schuette, Joseph Swenarton, Fernando Malagon and Xavier Portilla.
